The Youth Basketball Summer Camp Serving La Verne, Claremont, Rancho Cucamonga and Beyond
There’s something that happens at the start of every camp week at Lighthouse Baptist Church in La Verne that you’d have to see to fully appreciate. Families roll in from Claremont, San Dimas, Glendora, Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, and Pomona. Kids who have never met each other start warming up side by side. By Friday, they’re running plays together like they’ve been teammates for months.
That’s the Inland Empire community. And it’s a big part of what makes IE Rain Basketball’s summer camps different from just signing your kid up for a skills clinic.
Our Mission
Developing confident athletes and strong leaders through elite basketball training, competitive play, and character-building experiences that prepare them for success on and off the court.
A Program Built for IE Families
IE Rain Basketball has been part of the Rain Basketball family since 2010. The program serves youth athletes ages 6 through 18 across the entire Inland Empire region, and the summer camps are one of the most popular things they do all year.
Sessions run Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, with five separate week-long camps available June through July. All skill levels are welcome. All coaches hold USA Basketball Gold licensure, the highest certification in the sport, and the average coaching tenure across the staff is 12 or more years.
What the Inland Empire Brings to the Gym
One thing that stands out about IE camp weeks is the range of athletes who show up. You get kids from Claremont who have played organized ball for years alongside kids from Pomona or Ontario who are trying it for the first time. Both are welcome. Both get coached at their level.
There’s also something about the Inland Empire that makes the competitive energy in the gym a little extra. These kids play hard. They want to be good. And when a kid from Rancho Cucamonga who thought he was the best player in his neighborhood gets pushed by a coach on a fundamental he’s been ignoring, the look on his face when it clicks is exactly why we do this.
The Friendships That Form in Five Days
Ask any IE Rain parent what surprised them most about camp, and the friendship piece comes up constantly. Kids from La Verne and kids from Upland who would never cross paths during the school year end up exchanging numbers by Thursday. Families who drove in from Glendora end up in the same pickup game conversations as families from San Dimas.
Basketball does that. A shared week of hard work and good coaching builds something real, fast.
“My sons started playing AAU basketball back in 4th grade, and it’s truly been a game-changer for their development. What I really appreciate is how organized and consistent the practices are. The coaching staff is incredible. Coach Chris, Jordan, Art, Nino, and the rest of the team really care about the players and push them to be their best, both on and off the court.”

Why Rain?
Rain symbolizes growth, resilience, and new beginnings. Just as rain nourishes the ground for future harvest, our program invests in young athletes — equipping them with skills, values, and opportunities to thrive both on and off the court.
